With an aim to address the power of analytics and empower business leaders, Tridant partnered with IBM to discuss the benefits of the IBM Analytics Platform and highlight the latest release of Cognos 11.1. The Plan, Optimise and Visualise event that ran in Melbourne and Sydney saw an exceptional response from strategic decision makers, data professionals and tech-enthusiasts.
Keynote speakers Kevin Jessop, Lead Financial Performance Management Solution Specialist at IBM APAC and Anna Sum, Analytics Product Specialist at Tridant, began with an overview of the IBM end-to-end Analytics Platform - Cognos Analytics, Planning Analytics, SPSS and Decision Optimisation. Their demonstration revealed how complex scheduling and resource allocation problems can be solved using the powerful optimisation modelling capabilities of IBM.
Attendees then proceeded to their respective breakout sessions, the first being run by Torben Noer – WW Data Science and Business Analytics Technical Sales Leader, IBM Analytics. Torben demonstrated how Cognos 11.1 – driven by AI, is the most significant upgrade to the IBM platform yet. The infusion of augmented intelligence and machine learning are delivering smart predictive insights and uncovering hidden patterns in our data.
In Melbourne, the second breakout session had Victoria Bell, Business & Channel Development Victoria at Thinxtra and John MacLeod, Watson IoT Technical Specialist at IBM, presenting on the Internet of Things (IoT) and its potential to unlock new data source types. In Sydney, Renald Gallis, VP Ecosystem at Thinxtra, joined John for the IoT breakout session.
The Plan, Optimise, Visualise event highlighted the importance of capturing and utilising data analytics in order to drive forward business success, improve efficiency and increase profits.
It wrapped up with networking amongst attendees, fellow Cognos users and our industry experts.
